Me Rufus and Rand McNally
Thursday night at midnight i camped myslef in a movie theater for the relaese of Spider Man 3, the theater I was in had a broken projector so our auditorium made the great exodous to the opposite sode of a 17 screen theater and started again (45 min later) with worse seats and a smaller screen.
After the move I slept for a few hours and jumped in the car heading for NYC. I parked my car in NJ changed my clothes a hopped a bus to 42nd st. Once I arrived in the city I realized my traveling companions had no intention of going back to NJ untill Monday, (this was friday night).
Im glad I changed my clothes.
On saturday we went to the Gap.
The weekend on Long Island was relaxing, and a lot of fun. Watching poorly made chic flix, and eating lots of bagels.
Monday we made the trip from long island to my car...twice! once without my car keys, and the second time with them. I left them in my suit coat and as you all know my affinity for leaving behind suit jackets is monumentous.
No problem I get in my car with the intention of following my friends back to madrid, realizing very quickly that I need oil immediately. I mention this and then follow them to the closest gas station. Only I followed a maroon Honda instead of a maroon Hyundai (they both have a big H and lots of vowels, its very confusing)
So there I am with 2 quarts of oil a ny state map and no cell phone (did I mention I left that in their car) The G.W. bridge is only a good idea when you have a quik pass...I DON'T HAVE A QUIK PASS!!!. Two and a half hours later I make it across the bridge and find 87.
I made home an hour behind my companions not bad unless you consider the fact they stopped in Albany to shop.
its ok whats a long drive with no radio, no cell phone, and no real directions? At least I had rufus the stuffed dog and Rand McNally (the map) to talk to.

ohmygoodness! you and your sports jackets and funny stories. i hear you're at home for a little bit and i'm not (what's up with this situation?!). i'll be back on september 4 -- when do you leave. : )
